Overview
The Ultimate MAX Asset Tag™ is our most durable non-metal asset tag solution, engineered for the most extreme environments where maximum abrasion resistance is critical. Featuring an ultra-thick 500-micron polycarbonate construction at twice the thickness of the standard Ultimate Asset Tag™, it delivers significantly greater protection against abrasion and scratches.
As with the standard Ultimate, graphics are printed beneath the polycarbonate surface (Under-Surface Printing), rather than on top of it as with laminated labels. With a laminated label, the graphic sits on the surface and is covered by a separate clear film, which can lift, peel, scratch through, or wear away over time, exposing the print underneath. With Under-Surface Printing, the graphic is sealed within the solid polycarbonate itself, so there is no surface layer that can be worn through, peeled back, or scratched off. This provides robust resistance to UV exposure, chemicals, chemical cleaning and saltwater, while the doubled surface thickness ensures even greater protection against physical wear.
NOTE: Due to its increased thickness, this tag is suitable for flat surfaces only.
Applications & Use
The Ultimate MAX Asset Tag™ is designed for the most demanding industrial and external applications where standard labels or tags may fail over time. Ideal for sectors such as aviation, construction, utilities, manufacturing and marine. The tag performs exceptionally well on external equipment, machinery and high-value assets exposed to heavy wear, abrasive environments, harsh weather conditions and aggressive cleaning chemicals.
All variable number ranges will be printed in sequential order unless otherwise directed. For example, numbered labels with a starting number of 1001, you would receive labels with the numbers 1001, 1002, 1003, etc

The Ultimate MAX Asset Tag™
Its ultra-thick 500-micron Polycarbonate construction, combined with high-performance 3M™ adhesive, delivers exceptional performance in the harshest environments. Featuring a protective polycarbonate layer that is twice the thickness of the standard Ultimate Asset Tag™, the Ultimate MAX provides even greater protection against abrasion, scratches, chemicals, UV exposure and aggressive cleaning processes.
The tag’s permanent acrylic adhesive cures over time to create an extremely strong bond, making removal very difficult once applied. Due to its thick and rigid construction, the Ultimate MAX Asset Tag™ is designed for use on flat surfaces and is not suitable for curved applications.
Key Features
These tags are digitally printed in full colour (CMYK), with options for logos, text, sequential numbering, barcodes, QR codes and Datamatrix codes, all included at no extra cost. Asset tags can be created using our pre-made templates within the ‘Advanced’ or ‘Basic’ designers, or from customer-supplied artwork.
Sequential numbering is typically supplied in ascending order with single-digit increments unless otherwise requested or provided via customer database. Artwork proofs are always supplied for approval prior to manufacture to ensure the finished product meets your exact requirements.

3M 467 – 60mic – suitable for most applications with smoother surfaces
