The UK-based company measurable.energy has recently raised £4.5 million of funding to support their research in smart power outlet business.

Initial Estimates show a single high-density commercial building could save £115,000 by installing 5,000 of measurable.energy’s smart plug outlets.

The companies’ smart products have a number of tools within the devices to make energy savings more accessible, from the device learning software that can automatically switch on the power supply when a device is plugged into the socket to energy consumption figures for each wired device. The device applies learning to even more detail remotely. Its algorithms monitor factors that influence how much renewable energy is used. This is displayed via a coloured LED which lights up in green for renewable and red for fossil.

At the University of Reading and the local borough council, the start-up is surely looking at thousands of plug sockets ripe for intelligent energy monitoring. Further major contracts for measurable.energy arrived through early deals with Kier Group, a Manchester-HQed construction firm, and the Canadian engineering outfit Stantec.

measurable.energy’s CEO and co-founder, Dan Williams, added: “Our technology offers a simple solution for office occupiers who are under pressure to take action and cut energy costs and reduce emissions.

“Our solution can pay back financially within two years and allows business customers to reduce their electricity bills by at least 20%.

“With the welcome support of Clean Growth Fund, and our other new investors, we are in a stronger position to accelerate our commercial sales in the UK and global markets, as well as plan our entry into the residential market.”

Similar to measurable.energy’s Custom Labels have supplied the construction company Kier Group and have supplied them with several of our labeling solutions including site safety equipment labels for the company’s hard helmets. These particular labels have a water-based adhesive unlike many of our competitors which use chemicals that can worryingly degrade the hard helmet.

We also produce a number of premium ultra-durable labels and tags that are tough enough for external use and equally at home on electrical appliances.
