Custom Labels Ltd have confirmed that they will sponsor the local football team Middlezoy Rovers, and this was publicly announced on 25/10/2022. Custom Labels are proud to be putting funding back into a local community that has provided the business with valued members of staff for over 25 years. Local employment has contributed significantly to the business’s success and continued growth.

This specifically helps to fund a new first-team home kit. The team has been wearing this since the start of this current 2022/2033 season, which commenced in August. The new strip will be a new rendition of ‘The Zoy’s’ black and white striped kit, which the club has always worn. It will also feature the Custom Labels logo for promotional and marketing purposes.

Middlezoy Rovers First Team first joined senior local football in 2012 when they were promoted to the Somerset County League Division Two. The team finished second this year to gain promotion; then subsequently won the Division One title in 2016 to reach the Somerset County Premier League. Middlezoy Rovers have remained highly competitive in this division since averagely finishing 5th each year. This season the club has ambitions to be promoted again, which would see the team join the Western League for the first time in the club’s history.

Notably, the first team also won the County League Cup in June 2019, beating Minehead at Bridgwater Town’s ground Fairfax Park. In this current season, the first team is playing well and sits 5th in the league, 5 points off the league leader Chilcompton with a game in hand. The club also has a Reserves Team, an Athletic Team (third team), a Women’s Team, a Veterans Team + various youth teams across all age groups. Furthermore, the club has recently built a brand-new clubhouse and bar, which is the envy of many clubs in the local area.

In other football news, the world cup is now less than 4 weeks away from kicking off. The tournament will controversially be held in Qatar, with this being the first-ever World Cup held during the middle of a season (major European leagues). England plays their first game in Group B on Monday 21st November against Iran, with kick-off at 13:00 UK time. They then play the USA on Friday 25th November at 19:00 and then conclude the group against neighbors Wales on Tuesday 29th November at 19:00 (again, both UK times). If England finishes 1st or 2nd in the group then they will then progress to the knockout stages of the competition.

A breakout star for England could be young Birmingham-born Jude Bellingham, whose club side is Borussia Dortmund in Germany. At just 19 years of age, he already looks like a complete midfielder and boasts the maturity of a supremely experienced number 8. To back this up, he was England’s best player in their recent Nations League game against Germany + is only the third teenager in history to score in four consecutive Champions League games. The only other two players to do this is the impressive Kylian Mbappe of France and Erling Haaland of Norway. Unfortunately, the latter will not be playing at Qatar 2022 as Norway failed to qualify for the tournament this time around. Yahoo detail more information on England’s tournament here.
